Sliced tarragon from Holyflavours is 100% natural and has no additives. Tarragon (estragon) has a nice, soft taste and is also very healthy because of the large amounts of vitamins and minerals! Tarragon has a bittersweet, peppery aniseed flavor and is best known as a seasoning in the French Baernaise sauce.

It also goes well with chicken dishes, salad dressings and salads and with fried vegetables such as zucchini and aubergine. Keep cool, dry and dark.

Tarragon herb

The Latin name for tarragon is Artemisia dracunculus. Dracunculus is derived from the Greek and literally means dragon. The plant was when someone got bitten by a snake. (dragons without legs). Tarragon is high in vitamin B6, vitamin A and vitamin B2 and is rich in iron, manganese and calcium. In addition, it contains vitamin B11, vitamin B1 and vitamin C and magnesium, copper, potassium and zinc.

Tarragon is an appetizing herb and therefore fits perfectly in aperitifs!

Tarragon fits in many dishes thanks to its subtle taste. It is one of the most popular herbs and spices in French cuisine and part of the spice mixtures "fines herbes" and bouquet garni. Dried tarragon is delicious in meat and fish dishes, soups and sauces. Make your own bearnaise sauce with the recipe below!

Tarragon recipe French bernaisse sauce for 4 persons
Ingredients
4 egg yolks
4 tbsp vinegar
250 grams of unsalted butter
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
pepper and salt

Preparation
Melt the butter without colouring it. Spoon off the white pieces that have formed on top of the butter and pour the butter into a bowl. Beat the egg yolks together with the vinegar and heat in a pan over very low heat, so that the mixture thickens a bit.

Meanwhile, stir well with a whisk. Be careful not to let the sauce get too hot, because it will curdle! Stir in clarified butter. Continue to beat the sauce for another 5 minutes and season with tarragon, pepper and salt. Serve for example with prime rib and fries or asparagus!
