How high?

The exact size of a salt lamp really differs from lamp to lamp. They are chopped by hand and then grouped by weight class. So a 3kg lamp can be small and thick, long and thin, or somewhere in between.

How effective is the lamp?

The effectiveness of a salt lamp depends on different variables.

The most important ones are:

How big is the room in which you put it?
How many electronic appliances are in that room?
Is there an air conditioner?

Basic rule:

For an average bedroom of 12m2 with a TV, an alarm clock radio and two mobile phones with chargers, a salt lamp of 2-3 kg will suffice.

In a room of about 25m2 with a similar number of devices you use two lamps or one larger. But if you use much more electronics in that room or an air conditioner that purifies the air from ions, then the effectiveness of the lamps will be negatively affected.
