Origins of Halite salt

The mineral halite was created millions of years ago by the evaporation of sea water. Over the centuries, the deposited salt layer has been compressed into a packet of stone. Our cubic halite salt is a rock salt and comes from Pakistan. Halite consists of salt and many additional minerals and trace elements. Halite salt is the diamond among salts and is crystal clear. This salt has a sodium chloride content of up to 99.8%.

The name of halite comes from the Greek word "hals" which means seawater, salt. At the Romans, salt was a very precious commodity and was used as a flavoring, but also as a cosmetic.

Use

Halite salt is unrefined. This means that the salt has all its good qualities. It is full of minerals and there are no additives added. Halite salt is therefore particularly suitable to be used as a household spice salt and as a luxury salt in the kitchen. In addition, it can be added in the salt mill with dried herbs to taste.
