Kala Namak is also known as Indian Black Salt. The salt is extracted from a black rock, in the quarries at the foot of the Indian Himalayas. After grinding little of the black colour remains.
Application Kala Namak
This salt is very popular among vegans. The rock salt has a smell and taste reminiscent of boiled eggs due to its sulfurous properties. This allows vegans to add the taste of eggs to a dish without using a real egg. In this way, you can use it as an egg substitute in vegan mayonnaise or with tofu. Kala Namak is also widely used as an additive to curries, chutneys and sprinkled on fried dishes. It also goes very well with chicken and rice dishes.
